The Switch-Up: Evolving Campfire Media

In December 2023, I relaunched Campfire Media as a dual agency — one part focused on digital marketing services, the other a media studio producing content for my own channels. It was an exciting step forward that allowed me to combine my background in marketing and media production into one flexible platform. It was also a chance to bring my son on board as a co-owner, giving him hands-on experience in running a digital agency. After wrapping up a major contract in August 2024, we launched our new website and started building momentum. But things weren’t glamorous — we struggled to keep our pipeline full in the months that followed, as businesses pulled back on marketing spend due to economic uncertainty and the rapid shift brought on by A.I. across the digital landscape. A positive shift came in December 2024, when I signed a 12-month job contract with JR Home Products, working in a hybrid role within their marketing department. In 2025, we made the decision to officially phase out the digital marketing side of Campfire Media and stop taking on new clients. My current focus is on securing employment or contract work, while continuing to create digital content under the Campfire name in my free time.

Building Something from Scratch

I initially launched Campfire Media with the goal of building something that reflected the full range of my creative and strategic skills. With experience in video production (including editing), photography, graphic design, content writing, copywriting, and social media management, I had the tools to offer both client-driven marketing services and original media content. While I had doubts about running a digital marketing agency — especially with no guarantee of steady income — the flexibility of Campfire Media allowed me to explore a variety of creative directions. Like many ventures, the path wasn’t linear. There was no blueprint, just a desire to make something meaningful and a willingness to learn by doing. We took on a range of projects, but over time, it became clear that a pivot was needed to create more stability and ensure long-term success.

Shifting the Agency

By mid-2025, it was time to make a decision. We chose to wind down the client-facing digital marketing side of Campfire Media and stop looking for new clients. It was the right move — one that allowed me to refocus my time and energy on where I could make the most impact. While Campfire Media no longer operates as a service-based business, the digital media side still lives on as a creative outlet — a space to build our own successful content channels. I’ve since transformed the Campfire Media website into my personal portfolio to support my search for employment or a new contract role. As for my son, he’s now working full-time, pursuing his passion for acting, and exploring his options for university.

Where I’m Focused Now

I’m currently finishing up a 12-month contract with JR Home Products and actively exploring new contract or full-time opportunities. I’m eager to bring my experience in digital content creation and digital marketing into a role where I can contribute meaningfully — whether as part of a creative team or within an internal marketing department. I take a hands-on, results-focused approach to my work and thrive in healthy environments that value both creativity and clear delegation. I prefer owning my projects and seeing them through from concept to completion, though I’m also skilled at collaborating and contributing effectively within a team.

My Skill Set

My strengths include video production and editing, photography, graphic design, content writing, copywriting, social media strategy, digital advertising, influencer marketing, branding, and YouTube growth strategy. I’ve worked across industries and project types — from building brands from the ground up to supporting established companies with creative execution. Whether I’m developing a full campaign or jumping into a specific role, I bring a practical, strategic, and creative mindset to everything I do. If you’re hiring or looking to collaborate — or if you think I might be a fit for your team — I’d love to connect. You can check out my portfolio here, or get in touch here.
